SCORE Central Florida will host the “Creating an Effective Marketing Plan” small business workshop from 8 am to 9:30 am on October 13 at My Office & More, 122 E. Main St., Lakeland. Danish and coffee are served at 7:45 a.m. Joe Perez, The SCORE Mentor will discuss effective marketing plans that get the most return on marketing dollars. The workshop is sponsored by MosierData. FPRA Dick Pope / Polk County Chapter Meeting

The Dick Pope / Polk County Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association will host a professional development meeting from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on October 20 via Zoom or in person at My Office & More, 122 E. Main St., Lakeland. The participation fee for FPRA members is $ 20 and $ 35 for non-members. Branding expert Tim cox will present “What is branding?” Cox has spent his career working at Publix in the creative field. In 1989, he launched Publix’s in-house creative services department with five partners, which today has over 115 partners. After a 40-year career, he retired from Publix as Director of Creative Services in 2021. Cox currently works part-time as an Expert in Residence for Catapult in Lakeland as well as an independent consultant in brand material.
